Mōhiohio: to come to know, recognise, understand.
Op Mōhiohio gives employers and other stakeholders the exciting opportunity to observe Defence People working on unit exercises or activities. You will witness the types of training members receive, and the resulting benefits. The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) recognises how our valued employers support New Zealand's military capability and uses these opportunites to extend their thanks.
Activities can include:
- field training
- sea exercises
- officer selection boards
- command post exercises
- large combined exercises, and
- operational deployments.
You will get the chance to gain valuable insights into the skills that Defence People can bring back into your organisation. These are engaging and unique events that bring employers and other stakeholders up-close with the fast paced world of military training and operations.
Previous large Mōhiohio experiences have included the multinational Exercise Southern Katipo 15, as well as operational deployments to the Solomon Islands and Samoa in 2009 and 2012 respectively.
